Ballet Life
Here is a story of balletparents supporting two daughters in their endeavors
Demystifying ballet is something I have been working on for a while now and I want to share it all with you. Ballet is beautiful and it takes hard work, dedication and emotional maturity from aspiring dancers as well as their parents. Finding time to research programs, look to find great ballet academies, coaches, private lessons, Pilates, summer programs, competitions, costumes, etc. is an art form that takes great skill.
Balletparents/Danceparents dedicate their time, efforts and finances for a hope of tiny ballet dancer achieving their dream. For some it is winning a competition like YAGP, for others it is getting an amazing role in a production for some even landing a job with a prestigious ballet company.
But the best part is enjoying the process, to see growth as a person, dancer and a mastering discipline that comes along with it.
This is our story. Every day people, full time working parents supporting two aspiring ballerinas, age 11 and age 8. It is all the bad, the good the ugly and the amazing. After two years of intensive ballet training, I decided to start documenting some of our successes as well as our failures, in hopes to help other parents as well as to gain knowledge from parents who have been through it all.
You can follow along as we document Mia's Summer Intensive Program experiences which are coming up in summer 2018: Royal Ballet School in London, UK - July 2018 and Southland Ballet Academy in Irvine, CA - August 2018.
